TWIG 17 Bookstore is Back! It’s The Big Book Nook!

For everyone who’s been wondering what happened to the TWIG bookstore and when it might resurface – guess what? It’s back with all funds raised being donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern Ohio!  A grand opening was held on Thursday, November 16th at the new location – 624 West Fifth Avenue.

The Big Book Nook is a non-profit bookstore donating 100% of the money raised to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern Ohio. Founded in 1969 as TWIG 17, the group’s bookstore provided funding for Fairfield Medical Center, starting with an annual book sale at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds before moving into a storefront in 2014. For the past 54 years, TWIG 17 members have volunteered their time and talents to provide a bookstore experience for our community.

In 2023, The Big Book Nook was created when the TWIG 17 members voted to change their charity to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern Ohio. As part of this change, TWIG 17 would be absorbed by the non-profit. Big Brothers Big Sisters are excited to start this new adventure and expand the store and offerings.

The Big Book Nook will donate 100% of the proceeds to Big Brothers Big Sisters to ensure all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern Ohio has been in our community for over 50 years and has served thousands of youth. They have a growing need to serve more children and expand their services.

The impact of your donation of books and purchasing a book or item will create a lasting impact on youth in our community. Every Donation Counts!
