The Pecan Waffle at Todd’s Mountain View

Any brunch hour or lunch hour, you’ll find many happy faces seated or outside waiting for their seat at Todd’s Mountain View. Todd’s takes comfort food to the next level with crispy, unforgettable Broasted Chicken (takes a little extra time, so be patient) and a range of breakfast and brunch favorites like the Cap’n Crunch Waffle, the grilled Donut World Apple Fritter and, my personal favorite, The Pecan Waffle.

The Pecan Waffle served at Todd's Mountain View in Lancaster, Ohio.First, know that the waffle is huge. This waffle makes Eggos run for their mama. An inch to an inch-and-a-half high, the Pecan Waffle is about 8 inches across and made from scratch – perfectly toasty crunchy on the outside, fluffy and filling on the inside, filled with chopped pecans (so it’s healthy for you!) and served with a warm carafe of maple syrup. I add some sausage on the side, you can also add on some bacon or ham if you’d like. Could you share it? Probably. I like taking my leftover half home and heat it up in the toaster oven the next day.

Todd’s is a super friendly place with country music lightly playing in the background and a team of cheerful servers who glide around the dining room topping up coffee and making neighborly conversation. If you’re a singleton, you’re as comfortable as a big group. There are three counter seats for a quick or solo drop-in – fun to hear the kitchen calling out orders.

No doubt there will be a lot of folks back in town for the Lancaster Festival who will make the trek to Todd’s – welcome home and try the Pecan Waffle!
