Salvation Army Receives $25,000 Donation from Park National Bank

The Salvation Army of Fairfield County received a large donation in the sum of $25,000 from Park National Bank to further the organization’s Hope Marches On capital campaign.

The Salvation Army’s Hope Marches On campaign is dedicated to uplifting Fairfield County’s most vulnerable groups —seniors, youth, and low-income families – by modernizing infrastructure and increasing service capacity at a renovated facility on Memorial Drive in Lancaster – the site of the former Golden Corral restaurant.

“Our mission is to cater to the social, spiritual, and physical well-being of the entire community,” said Salvation Army Major Bryan DeMichael. “Having committed community partners with values that parallel the Salvation Army’s is critical to our success. What we are asking from the entire community is monumental, but achievable with this kind of generosity.”

Park National Bank continues to support the Salvation Army because of its unwavering dedication to addressing the multifaceted needs of the community. Both organizations commit to serving vulnerable populations.

“Lending our support to the Salvation Army’s Capital Campaign reflects Park National Bank’s commitment to nurturing our community’s well-being. By aiding in the creation of a new Corps Community Center, we are empowering the Salvation Army to amplify its impact, serving more individuals in need with enhanced efficiency and expanded services. Together, we’re building a stronger, more resilient community for all.” said Laura Tussing, Park National Bank Regional President.

Nicole Davis, Park National Bank Wealth Advisor, and Salvation Army board member, agreed.

“Having joined the Salvation Army board right before a Capital Campaign, I knew this would be an exciting time to serve,” she said. “When my employer decided to jump into this project with such a generous donation, I was thrilled! It’s encouraging to witness the ripple effects that occur when a community comes together to meet a need, and this campaign has given me a front-row seat to that impact.”

Park National Bank’s contribution will be used towards establishing a community laundry facility, providing a vital resource that will alleviate the burden of laundry expenses for individuals and families in need. Through this partnership with the Salvation Army, Park National Bank reaffirms its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all members of our community, fostering a sense of belonging and support for those in need.

The Salvation Army of Fairfield County plans to raise $8 million for total renovation costs of the Memorial Drive facility. A steering committee for the campaign has been created to work alongside the board and Salvation Army internal stakeholders.
